Listen to KISS on iHeartRadio

KISS appears to be moving forward with plans to create their own documentary.  The group has reportedly tapped director Alan Parker to be at the helm for "You Wanted The Best...You Got The Best."

Frontman Paul Stanley says he and his bandmates are "thrilled to have Alan on board to help tell the definitive KISS story," adding that they've been amazed by Alan's knowledge of the band.

Parker, meanwhile admits he's thrilled to get the job.  He says he's "incredibly proud" to have the opportunity to tell the story of one of his favorite bands.

"Classic Rock" magazine says Parker has just begun working on the KISS film in New York.

Parker has a number of rock documentaries on his resume.  His credits include "Who Killed Nancy," about the 1978 murder of Sid Vicious' girlfriend Nancy Spungen, "Rebel Truce: The History of The Clash," and 2012's "Hello Quo," about the band Status Quo.
