AC/DC has completed work on their new album, tentatively due to be released late this year.

The band may title the album Man Down, an homage to guitarist Malcolm Young, who was unable to participate in the recording sessions due to a serious illness -- unconfirmed reports claimed he suffered a stroke.

"We're done," singer Brian Johnson said. "I'm very excited, and we've got some great songs. I wanted to call the album Man Down. But it's a bit negative, and it was probably just straight from the heart. I like that."

In Young's absence, his nephew Stevie Young played guitar for the album. Stevie played with AC/DC previously during a 1988 tour while Malcolm battled a drinking problem.

"We miss Malcolm, obviously," Johnson said. "He's a fighter. He's in hospital, but he's a fighter. We've got our fingers crossed that he'll get strong again."
