A father in Iowa called police to teach his son a lesson. It had deadly consequences.

The 19-year-old stole his dad's truck to go buy cigarettes, and when police attempted to pull him over, he led them on a chase, resulting in a standoff.

After refusing to turn off the truck's engine, police fired six shots, killing the teen.

The police report claims the gunshots were necessary "to stop the ongoing threat to the public and the officers."
