The Dallas Stars made a pretty big move at the trade deadline today, sending backup goaltender Dan Ellis to Florida in exchange for Tim Thomas. If you're not familiar with Thomas his resume is pretty stellar. He is a two-time winner of the Vezina Trophy as the league's best goaltender, and won a Silver Medal as a member of Team USA in the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver. Thomas also won the Stanley Cup and Conn Smythe Trophy as the most valuable player in the 2011 Stanley Cup playoffs. Thomas is also remembered as the guy who skipped the White House visit in 2012 with his Stanley Cup winning teammates due to his political and ideological differences with the Obama administration. He'll fit right in here in the Lonestar state.
