Things were going so well for the Dallas Cowboys, who began the season 2-0, but now it appears the team has been bitten by the injury bug. Wide receiver Michael Gallup is expected to have surgery today and will miss two to four weeks due to a left knee injury suffered during Sunday’s win against the Washington Redskins. That means Devin Smith, who caught a 51-yard touchdown in last Sunday’s win, will have an opportunity to step up. The Cowboys also learned that safety Xavier Woods' status for this Sunday's game against the Miami Dolphins is up in the air after he suffered a high ankle sprain during the Redskins game. If Woods can't go, safety Darian Thompson would step in for the Cowboys secondary.
