David Bowie and Queens' Under Pressure, Almost Didn't Happen...

David Bowie and Queen’s iconic duet “Under Pressure” almost didn’t get recorded. On the latest episode of Queen’s YouTube docuseries “Queen The Greatest,” Roger Taylor gives himself credit for remembering the iconic bassline that sparked the hit.

Roger says bassist John Deacon was fooling around in the studio and kept playing what would become the iconic “Under Pressure” bassline “over and over again.” But when they took a break for some pizza, it slipped his mind. Luckily, Roger says he remembered it.

With the bassline down, the band started writing “Under Pressure.” Tehn David was called in for a spontaneous recording session with Queen, and the rest is history. Check out a clip to the right.
