The Cars and Neil Diamond are both members of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, but who knew Diamond is a footnote in the history of Cars' guitarist Elliot Easton.
Appearing with actor and comedian Jeff Garlin and guitarist Jimmy Vivino on Gibson TV's Couch of Guitars, Easton says when he was 15 his band used to rehearse across the street from Diamond's parent's home, and Neil bailed him out onetime by giving him a guitar string.
Neil walked over to the Continental, opened the trunk and took out a pack of strings from his guitar case, the envelope of which Easton held onto for years.
