Eric Clapton has released another song and video off his new live collection, The Lady in the Balcony: Lockdown Sessions.
This time it's a cover of Fleetwood Mac's "Black Magic Woman," which he starts by saying, "This one's for Peter," meaning Mac founder, guitarist and the song's writer, the late Peter Green. The most famous cover of "Black Magic Woman" was done by Santana.
Clapton used to be Mick Fleetwood's brother-in-law when he was married to Pattie Boydand Fleetwood to her sister, Jenny. And Clapton was also a member of John Mayall's Blues Breakers with future Fleetwood Mac bassist John McVie.
The Lady in the Balcony: Lockdown Sessions is a mostly acoustic set, recorded at Cowdray House in West Sussex, England this year. After the cancellation of his concerts this past May at London's Royal Albert Hall, he reconvened drummer Steve Gadd,bassist Nathan East and keyboardist ChrisStainton, and played live while letting the cameras roll. Clapton’s wife Melia, the sole outside observer, inspired the collection's title.
It will be released on CD, vinyl and DVD, and digitally on November 12th.
