Metallica's Hetfield Unboxes "72 Seasons"-and a Look Behind Vinyl Pressing

Metallica have released a behind-the-scenes look at Furnace Record Pressing, the pressing plant they invested in, as it creates a personalized copy of 72 Seasons for a contest winner named Peter. Check out how the record gets made

In music news, the band has posted a video of James Hetfield opening the different configurations of their new album, 72 Seasons -- vinyl, CD and cassette. The album will be out on April 14th as the band makes their way to North Texas for a No Repeat Weekend, August 18th & 20th, at AT&T Stadium

While the band members are promoting the new album, guitarist Kirk Hammett discussed their catalog in an interview with Rock Candy and he says their third album, Master of Puppets, released in 1986, is his favorite.

He says, "A lot of the music from that time now sounds samey and similar, but there's really nothing on Master of Puppets that dates it to any particular period — sound-wise, production-wise, recording-wise. It's my favorite of all the albums we've ever done."

And in an interview with Metal Hammer, drummer Lars Ulrich says he occasionally reads social media comments about the band.

"If you decide to go down into the comment sections, at least for me, you have to prepare yourself for not taking any of it overly personally. You have to kind of remove yourself from it. But I'd like to challenge anybody in a band to say they don't look at comments..."

Metallica begin their M72 world tour on April 27th in Amsterdam.

Metallica, through their All Within My Hands foundation, have donated $150,000 to provide assistance and relief to areas affected by severe weather in California and the South.
