Metallica 72 Seasons Tour Kicks off in Amsterdam, On their Way to Dallas/FW

Metallica's M72 world tour is underway.

The band took the stage at Johan Cruijff Arena in Amsterdam, Holland Thursday night and began the show with "Orion," which they hadn't opened with since 2011.

In the course of their 16-song set, they debuted "Screaming Suicide" and "Sleepwalk My Life Away" from their new album 72 Seasons. They also performed two others off the album: "If Darkness Had A Son," which they'd only played during their Jimmy Kimmel Live residency earlier this month, and "Lux Aeterna," which they'd played at their All Within My Hands benefit in December as well as on Kimmel.

The M72 Tour will see Metallica playing two entirely different shows in each city they visit with two different sets of opening acts. Mammoth WVH and Architects were the support acts for this show. Ice Nine Kills and Floor Jansen will open for them at Friday's second Amsterdam concert. They'll be at AT&T Stadium, August 18 and 20th. (Blabbermouth)
