In Moody Blues news, bassist John Lodge has re-recorded the band's breakthrough album, 1967 Days of Future Passed.
Calling it Days of Future Passed – My Sojourn, he says, “It’s incredible to look back on this album that changed my life, and that still has so much impact today on so many, and I felt that it deserved celebrating, and so I began rehearsals in 2021/2022 to bring this celebration to life on stage...
"After the final rehearsals for the concert, I realized I should capture this new moment in time, although a reflection of the past, forever, by going into the studio and recording the album, Days of Future Passed – My Sojourn. I am hoping that this will bring a new generation of listeners to the album, that they then may rediscover the original recording, and the beautiful vocals of Mike Pinder, Justin Hayward, Ray Thomas and myself. I dedicate this album to them and [our drummer] Graeme Edge and [producer] Tony Clarke, and to all the fans that are with me on this sojourn, no matter when you joined…”
The album features the late Edge reciting his poems "Morning Glory" and "Late Lament," as well as Yes vocalist Jon Davison, who is married to Lodge's daughter Emily. The cover features a photo of Lodge walking alongside his wife of 55 years, Kristen, taken by their daughter-in-law, Inga Wilson.
It will be available to stream and download starting Friday, followed by its availability on CD for his fan club, at his shows this summer, as well as through his website Shop.JohnLodge.com. A vinyl edition will follow in the fall.
