Ace Frehley has made it clear that he's tired of his former KISS bandmates, Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons, continually trying to "destroy" his reputation. But he has no problem dishing it right back, which he has done once again when discussing his forthcoming album, 10,000 Volts.
In an interview with Guitar World he says the new album is going to make Paul and Gene "look like imbeciles. KISS hasn’t put out a record since [Monster in] 2012, and here I am, 17 years sober, and it’s my sixth record since leaving KISS. I keep chugging along, and nobody can stop me. Creating amazing music is the best way to combat someone putting you down. That’s how I shut them up.”
And, Frehley has another album in the works, telling WDHA in Morristown, New Jersey, that there will be a third covers collection, Origins Volume 3.
"We can get some great guest stars and pick some really great songs I haven't done. Because remember, in the late '60s and early '70s, there was so many great songs. Lita Ford called me up; she wants to be involved again. I've gotta give Slash a call. That's all I can say at the moment… Origins Volume 3 is gonna be the next release."
Origins Volume 1 was released in 2016, followed by Volume 2 in 2020.
10,000 Volts will be out on February 4th.
