You’ve been following along with us as former Motley Crue guitarist Mick Mars has taken his former band to court. The rocker, who’s since begun his solo career, retired in 2022 but claims he was “illegally severed” from their affairs in early 2023.
Now, Mars’ attorney says the case has enough juice to head to private arbitration sometime this year. “Finally, somebody, somewhere told these guys they can’t bully Mick anymore,” said Ed McPherson. The legal team alleges the band tried to force the guitarist to sign an agreement that would axe his ownership of his long-time band from 25-percent to 5-percent (and nothing of any future tours).
“This was them feeling they were above the rules,” continued the rocker’s lawyer. “And this judge saying ‘no, you’re not.’” McPherson called the decision to go to arbitration, which came on the heels of the ruling judge deciding Motley Crue took too much time to respond. Mars’ team confirms their claim is “a pretty huge victory for Mick.”
