Remembering Vinnie Paul Abbott, born on this day in 1964. When it comes to DFW rock royalty, they didn't come any bigger than Vinnie. Not just a drummer, but also a producer and co-founder of Pantera, Damageplan, and HELLYEAH! I had the pleasure of meeting Vinnie numerous times, whether at the radio station or at Dallas Stars games, and he always had a smile and a story. Sadly, we lost him on June 22, 2018, at his Las Vegas home, dead at the age of 54 from a "dilated cardiomyopathy and coronary artery disease."
