Metallica have shared a clip of their cover of Elton John's "Funeral of a Friend / Love Lies Bleeding" on their social media.
The full performance aired last night on PBS as part of the Gershwin Prize for Popular Music special honoring Elton and Bernie Taupin. The full special will be available to stream starting today on the PBS Passport app.
Elton John's 2019 film Rocketman, which he describes as a musical fantasy and not a bio-pic, has been passed by Bob Marley: One Love on Billboard's list of the Top 25 Highest-Grossing Music Biopics.
Elton was sitting at number-five with a gross of $96.4 million, but One Love took in $607,000 in its eighth week at the box office, bringing its box-office gross to $96.6 million in the U.S. and Canada through this past Sunday.
Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody sits atop the list with a domestic gross of $216.4 million.
