60 Years Later, Paul McCartney Responds to Beatles Fan

Back in 1964 when The Beatles came to America for the first time, one of the thousands of screaming teenage girls briefly interviewed was Adrienne from Brooklyn, who said she loved Paul McCartney "with all her heart."

Well, it's taken 60 years, but Paul has responded, posting a video in which he says he finally made it to Brooklyn and that she should come see his photo exhibit, Paul McCartney Photographs 1963-64: Eyes of the Storm, on display at the Brooklyn Museum through August 18th.

This is not the first time a Beatle has reached out to a fan from those heady days of 1964.

In 2013, Ringo Starr put the word out that he wanted to identify the six teenagers he photographed in a car that pulled alongside The Beatles’ motorcade as it made its way into Manhattan on their first trip to America in 1964.

The photo was featured in his book from that year, Photograph, and in November 2023 he met five of them while performing in Las Vegas with his All-Starr Band.

They were originally all from New Jersey, and one of them, Arlene Norbe, told Ringo, "I never knew that you were such a gifted photographer," to which he said, “That's a lucky shot... Don't tell anyone."

Regarding the snapshot, Ringo says, “That photo became much bigger than I thought it ever would. I mean, I just put it in the book because it's a great shot and then, suddenly in America, everyone was trying to find them... It took me about four-and-a-half seconds to take it, and now I feel like I'm living with them!”
