Born on this day in 1962, Robert Ian Astbury, the English singer and musician, best known as the founder and singer of The Cult, turns 62. In his honor, check out the interview I conducted with him in the summer of 2012, when The Cult toured the United States in support of their ninth studio album Choice Of Weapon. Prior to the show at House of Blues Dallas on June 20th, Ian Astbury called me to chat about the album, as well as side projects, soccer, the Budweiser Super Bowl ad that featured a remix of "She Sells Sanctuary" and their opener Against Me's Laura Jane Grace.
