Eric Clapton Working on New Studio Album

Eric Clapton has a new studio album in the works, his first since 2018's Happy Xmas.

He broke the news last week during an online interview with The Real Music Observer, saying it will consist of all the songs he's released since the pandemic, including "Heart of a Child" and "Pompous Fool," and the anti-COVID vaccine songs he did with Van Morrison, plus a few non-political tunes.

It's titled Meanwhile and he thinks it will be out in the fall.

But before that he will release a new concert album, To Save a Child, on vinyl and CD/Blu-Ray on July 12th.

The concert, which has been available digitally, was held last December 8th in London and streamed for a fee in January, and it's the money from the stream that Clapton is questioning.

In early April he released a new song called "Prayer of a Child" to raise funds for children in Gaza.

Clapton is on tour in Europe with his next show this today in Lyon, France.
