A 75-year-old woman was reportedly scammed out of over $120-thousand by someone impersonating Journey’s Steve Perry. Apparently the woman responded to a Facebook message in January from the impersonator who “had a business opportunity” and “needed a woman in his life” according to authorities. Over the next few months she sent over $70-thousand in wire transfers and $50-thousand in gift cards. She eventually went to police after the impersonator started to demand pictures of her passports and driver's license. Police are currently working to track the imposter down.
