Billy Joel has been nominated for an Emmy Award for Outstanding Variety Special (Pre-Recorded) for Billy Joel: The 100th - Live at Madison Square Garden. The special also received nominations for Lighting, Sound and Direction. Also nominated is The Greatest Night in Pop – the story of recording 1985’s “We are the World” – for Outstanding Documentary or Nonfiction Special and Outstanding Directing for a Documentary/Nonfiction Program. The Emmys will be awarded in Los Angeles on September 15th.
