The Police Deluxe Reissue of 1983's 'Synchronicity' is Out Today

The deluxe reissue of The Police's fifth and final album, 1983's Synchronicity, is out today.

To give you another taste of the box set with 55 previously unreleased tracks, they've released the demo of “Every Breath You Take.”

They say it was "recorded at London’s Utopia Studios, around two months before the version that we all know today.”

Every Breath You Take” is their only number-one song, having spent eight weeks atop the Billboard Hot 100. It won two Grammy Awards -- Song of the Year and Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals -- and is the most played song in the history of radio.

In 1983, it earned Sting the Ivor Novello Award for Best Song Musically and Lyrically from the British Academy of Songwriters, Composers and Authors.

However, the song remains a sore subject for Police guitarist Andy Summers who last October said he should be credited as the co-writer.
