Although they had performed shows in New York, Washington DC and Miami in February 1964, The Beatles' first proper tour of America began 60 years ago today, on August 19th 1964 at the Cow Palace in San Francisco. The Beatles would perform 12 songs in a set that would last just 29 minutes.
