Gene Simmons was in Niagara Falls, New York on Sunday where he was honored with the "Key to the City." In addition, a portion of Main Street between Pine and Cedar Avenues was also temporarily renamed Gene Simmons Boulevard.
This all stems from his partnership with Rock Steady Sodas, a local company that distributes his MoneyBag Soda line, and, Top Friendly Market, a supermarket chain based in New York State, having recently sold the one-millionth bottle of MoneyBag Sodas.
Commenting on the partnership and achievement, Simmons said, "The business community in Upstate New York is alive and thriving, and I am honored to be a part of it.
"This is the ideal picture of a homegrown family business exemplifying strong values and commitment to quality. The people and their work ethic make Niagara Falls a wonderful place to do business."
Simmons and his band performed a show last night at the Riviera Theatre in North Tonawanda with all proceeds going towards the Theatre's lobby expansion project.
