Released at midnight on September 17, 1991, Guns N' Roses issued both Use Your Illusion I AND Use Your Illusion II. Both albums were released in conjunction with the Use Your Illusion Tour. The albums debuted at No's 1 & 2 on the Billboard charts, selling a total of 1.5 million copies in the first week. As of 2010, the albums have combined for more than 11million in sales. Ironically, it would be released one week before Nirvana's Nevermind. After that, bands like Guns N' Roses were considered old news, and grunge would rule the airwaves for the next decade.
