How to Re-Assemble an Atomic Bomb is a deluxe reissue in multiple formats of their 2004 album How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb.
There will be an eight-LP or five-CD super deluxe edition that includes the original album, a compilation of remixes done by Hot Chip, Trent Reznor, Jacknife Lee and more, and the complete Vertigo 2005: Live From Chicago show.
The super deluxe editions will also have a companion album called How to Re-Assemble an Atomic Bomb. It has 10 songs recorded during the album sessions that were compiled for this reissue by The Edge.
He says, "For this anniversary edition I went into my personal archive to see if there were any unreleased gems and I hit the jackpot. We chose 10 that really spoke to us. Although at the time we left these songs to one side, with the benefit of hindsight we recognize that our initial instincts about them being contenders for the album were right, we were onto something."
Two of the songs from How to Re-Assemble an Atomic Bomb, "Country Mile" and "Picture of You (X + W)," are below.
How to Re-Assemble an Atomic Bomb will be released as a stand-alone LP for Record Store Day's Black Friday on November 29th. There's also two-LP, CD and cassette versions of the original album with the bonus track "Fast Car" of the original album also coming out on November 22nd.
