Billy Joel says he's "not dying," at least according to Howard Stern, who had dinner with Joel and their wives two weeks ago.
"[He] does have issues. But he said to me — so I’m not saying anything crazy — ‘Yeah, you can tell people: I’m not dying.’ He wants people to know that. He’s got to deal with some medical stuff. But he was delightful. We had a great time with the wives. Billy’s doing okay.”
Joel was diagnosed with Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus, a condition where cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) accumulates in the brain's ventricles, but the pressure inside the skull remains within the normal range. It's curable.
As a result, Joel canceled all his shows for this year and next.
