Ozzy: What Comes Next? A Memoir and a Concert Film

As with any major rock star death, Ozzy Osbourne's passing will likely cause a spike in streams and sales of his solo albums and the Black Sabbath catalog. And there are two recently announced projects that will also get a boost.

The memoir Last Rites -- which now is a prophetic title -- was announced just two weeks ago, and as of now it's due out on October 7th. It's the follow-up to his first book, 2010's I Am Ozzy. Grand Central Publishing said that it covers “the shocking, bitterly hilarious, never-before-told story of Osbourne’s descent into hell.”

When the book was announced, Grand Central said that it would cover the Back to the Beginning concert. At this point it's not clear if Ozzy had dictated his thoughts about the event for the book.

There's also a film version of the Back to the Beginning concert, Back to the Beginning: Ozzy’s Final Bow. It's 100 minutes long and will be shown in theaters in early 2026. A home video release is will follow.

And even though there will likely be a lot of money made off of his death for the Osbourne family, his last public act will do an enormous amount of good for many people. Back to the Beginning raised more than $200 million for the Birmingham Children’s Hospital, Acorn Children’s Hospice and Cure Parkinson’s. The concert film could raise even more money for those charities as well.
