I had heard rumblings... and recent news reports that construction of the new Irving Music Factory was delayed, in part due to the amount of rain we've experienced here in DFW.
Well, today we get confirmation from Live Nation...
Comedian Dave Chappelle was supposed to open the venue with two shows tomorrow and Friday. Those two shows have been rescheduled for Oct. 26 and 27, still at the Irving Music Factory. Old tickets will work for those dates.
Sadly Jeff Foxworthy and Larry the Cable Guy’s Backyard BBQ event this weekend has been cancelled.
Now the venue is set to open on September 9th with the ZZ Top show.
Here's the press release from Live Nation..
DALLAS, TX (Aug. 30, 2017) — Due to construction delays in completing portions of the development on time and the assessment of the present status of the project, Live Nation has been forced to delay the opening of the Pavilion until Saturday, September 9. It is with regret that we apologize to our patrons; however, it is important that we deliver a first-class venue experience. We look forward to opening September 9, 2017, with a performance by ZZ Top.
