According to a story in RollingStone.com, Fleetwood Mac is set to become the first band to receive the MusiCares Person of the Year Award. Last year Tom Petty was the recipient. The ceremony and special concert will take place January 26th at Radio City Music Hall, just two days before the 60th Annual Grammy Awards.
Mick Fleetwood wrote in a statement. "It's a tremendous honor to be the first band to receive the MusiCares Person of the Year award, independently and together, we all set off on a journey to spend our lives as artists, songwriters and musicians. None of us did it alone and there were plenty of helping hands along the way, so we applaud and celebrate MusiCares' guiding principles of giving musicians a helping hand and a place to turn in times of need."
The concert will feature current artists influenced by Fleetwood Mac like Harry Styles, Lorde, John Legend, OneRepublic, Keith Urban, and Haim covering some of Fleetwood Mac's best songs, followed by the Mac themselves performing at the end of the show.
