Classic Rockers Ruled 2017's Top Selling Vinyl Albums

According to Billboard.com vinyl sales hit another record (get it?) in 2017. More than 14 million slabs of wax were sold, which was a 9 % increase over 2016. In fact that number represents the most vinyl albums sold in one calendar year since 1991. 

As you'll see from the list below, Classic Rockers were well represented as the Beatles held the top 2 spots followed by the soundtrack to Guardians of the Galaxy which is loaded with classic rock hits. Pink Floyd's 1973 masterpiece The Dark Side of the Moon came in at number 8.

3. Soundtrack, Guardians of the Galaxy: Awesome Mix Vol. 1 - 62,000

4. Ed Sheeran, Divide - 62,000

5. Amy Winehouse, Back to Black - 58,000

6. Prince, Purple Rain (Soundtrack) - 58,000

7. Bob Marley and the Wailers, Legend: The Best of... - 56,000

8. Pink Floyd, The Dark Side of the Moon - 54,000

9. Soundtrack, La La Land - 49,000

10. Michael Jackson, Thriller - 49,000
