Today is "Change a Pet's Life Day" and Dallas Animal Services is offering free adoptions at both Dallas shelters -- 1818 N. Westmoreland Road and 16821 N. Coit Road -- and will last until 6:30 p.m. Adoptable pets will be spayed, neutered, microchipped and brought up to date on vaccines. Dallas Animal Services officials also assure adopters that everything is indeed free and there are no hidden fees. Normally adoption fees are $85 for dogs and $55 for cats.
