Back in 2002, George Harrison's longtime friend Eric Clapton along with Harrison's wife Olivia decided to create a "Concert For George" on the one year anniversary of his passing. Now, to coincide on what would have been George's 75th birthday on 2/25 the movie is being released on home video, and also being screened in movie theaters across North America including The Magnolia Theater In Dallas on 2/28 at 7pm as well as the Angelika Theater in Plano on 2/28 at 7pm ... and the legendary Texas Theater on 3/10 & 3/11
The momentous evening at London's Royal Albert Hall featured George's songs, and music he loved, performed by a lineup that included Clapton, Joe Brown, Dhani Harrison, Jools Holland, Jeff Lynne, Paul McCartney, Monty Python, Tom Petty, Billy Preston, Ravi and Anoushka Shankar, Ringo Starr and many more.
