David Bowie Statue Vandalized

Thanks to mix96.co.uk for this story

Just yesterday I posted the story of the first ever David Bowie statue, which was unveiled on Sunday in Aylesbury, in Buckinghamshire, England, where Bowie first debuted his Ziggy Stardust in 1972. Well, in less than 48 hours, it was vandalized. Someone sprayed the statue with graffiti that read "Feed the homeless first" and "RIP DB."

Music promoter and the man behind the statue David Stopps said

"The paint was on the statue, the wall behind and on the pavement. It was about the homeless – but I do quite a lot for the homeless, which is the irony of the whole thing. The man who created the bronze casting is coming up tomorrow to blowtorch it off the statue, which is the only way, and then re-waxing it."
