Company That Painted Over Deep Ellum Mural of Marines Apologizes

You may remember last week the story of the mural of U.S. Marines in Deep Ellum that was painted over? Well, the company that did it has apologized and promised to make it right.

Westdale Asset Management officials said they made an error in judgment when they covered up the mural last week. The company's president reached out to one of the artists of the mural, located outside the Green Room, and offered to pay to replace the work.

The mural that took Preston Pannek seven days to paint was erased in just hours. The mural, based off an award-winning photograph by Jeremy Lock, was on the side of the Green Room bar in Deep Ellum.
