Price Gouged For Gas During Hurricane Harvey? Now You Can File Claim

Remember during Hurricane Harvey when area gas stations were charging $4 (or more) for a gallon of gas? Well, Attorney General Ken Paxton made good on his promise today, finalizing a settlement with 48 Texas gas stations accused of price gouging. Those 48 businesses will pay $166,592 in civil restitution to refund Texans who were charged exorbitant or excessive prices for gasoline. Most of the businesses that agreed to pay restitution (42 of them) operate gas stations in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
