North Texas Honors The Fallen Officers Of The 7/7 Dallas Ambush

It was just before 9:00 p.m. on July 7, 2016, when a gunman opened fire as a peaceful protest in downtown Dallas was coming to an end.  Police officers across the city were working security during the march against police shootings when shots rang out. 4 DPD officers and 1 Dart officer were killed. Another 9 officers were injured along with 2 civilians.

Today there was prayer and a moment of silence. Tomorrow there will be The Fallen Officers Memorial at Dallas City Hall Plaza which starts at 9 a.m followed by the Officer Down Motorcycle Ride. Registered riders will be issued a commemorative patch at the culmination of the police escorted ride, prior to the movie. The 35-mile motorcycle ride will end at Studio Movie Grill Northwest Highway.
