Study Shows Blue Light From Smart Devices Could Make You Blind

This doesn't surprise me. My eyes were just fine until I started staring into a tiny screen for hours every day. That and I also turned 50 a few years back. However, a new study at the University of Toledo revealed that prolonged exposure to blue light triggers poisonous molecules to be generated in the eye’s light-sensitive cells that can cause macular degeneration – an incurable condition that affects the middle part of vision. Blue light, which has a shorter wavelength and more energy compared with other colors, can gradually cause damage to the eyes.
