Weird scene in Berlin last night, as U2 had to abruptly end their show in mid-concert after Bono suffered what was described as "a complete loss of voice." It was only the second show of the band’s European leg of their eXPERIENCE + iNNOCENCE Tour, and just a few songs into the performance. You can see things unfold below, Bono addresses the crowd around the 4:20 mark of the video.
Afterward, the band posted an apology on their website.
Bono took to social media Sunday afternoon to assure fans he’ll be A-OK the rest of the way.
"I've seen a great doctor and with his care I’ll be back to full voice for the rest of the tour. So happy and relieved that anything serious has been ruled out. My relief is tempered by the knowledge that the Berlin audience were so inconvenienced. There was an amazing atmosphere in the house, it was going to be one of those unforgettable nights but not for this reason… We can’t wait to get back there on November 13th." - Bono
