According to a report in the Florida Times-Union, founding Allman Brothers guitarist Dickey Betts has been hospitalized after a freak accident at his home. The report states Betts went out to his backyard and slipped while playing with the family dog, hitting his head and causing bleeding in his brain. Betts’ longtime friend and manager says the rock legend is listed “in critical but stable condition" and brain surgery has been scheduled this Friday to relieve swelling.
