Dallas Stars Rookie Scores 1st Career NHL Goal

It was another fun night at American Airlines Center on Thursday night as the Dallas Stars whooped up on the Anaheim Ducks 5-2. Fueling the victory was the first career NHL goal from the #3 overall pick on the 2017 NHL Draft, 19-year-old Finnish defenseman Miro Heiskanen (pronounced MEE roh HAYZ kuh nehn). As the Public Address Announcer for the Stars it’s always a privilege to call first career goals, but this one was extra special, and the first of many more goals to come for Heiskanen. After the game the kid was awarded the “Cowboy Hat” in the locker room, signifying he was his teammates choice for player of the game. Watch the entire sequence below, including the goal, my in-arena announcement, and the postgame celebration.
