4 Year Old Hit By Foul Ball In Houston, New Rangers Stadium To Increase Net

In case you haven't seen what happened in Houston a couple nights back, a 4-year-old girl was struck by a foul ball off the bat of Chicago Cubs' player Albert Almora Jr. The girl was taken to the hospital and thankfully, she is ok. You can see below how it affected Almora, and the stunned crowd at Minute Maid Park fell eerily silent.

In the wake of another fan injury, protective netting at ballparks is once again under scrutiny and the Texas Rangers have taken notice. According to reports, the Rangers will increase safety measures at Globe Life Field when it opens next spring, including the extension of safety netting, approximately 150 feet farther than the existing netting currently at Globe Life Park.
