Van Halen's 'Hot For Teacher' Like You've Never Heard It Before

OK you've gotta keep am open mind on this one.

First a little background. Greg Kurstin is a well-known record producer who's worked with the likes of Sir Paul McCartney. Kurstin also has a band, a side-project, called The Bird and the Bee, featuring himself and singer (and daughter of Lowell George from Little Feat) Inara George. The two have released 3 albums of original material over the years to critical acclaim, as well as a tribute album to Hall & Oates, where they themselves (The Bird and the Bee) did ALL the songs. Now, their next album (out August 2) is much in that same vein, except this time the tribute is to Van Halen. Today, they gave us another taste off the album, their wonderfully goofy take on the 1984 classic "Hot for Teacher," complete with Beck in the role of the teacher, Mr. Goodbody, and Kurstin's jazzy piano solo replacing Eddie Van Halen's guitar. Scroll down to give it a listen.
