Remembering Ronnie James Dio, Born On This Day In 1942

Born on this day in 1942, Ronald James Padavona (pka Ronnie James Dio or simply Dio), the American heavy metal singer-songwriter and composer, one time member of Black Sabbath, and founder of numerous groups including Elf, Rainbow, Heaven and Hell, and Dio, would have turned 77 today. Sadly, we lost Ronnie on May 16, 2010 after a year-long battle with stomach cancer, he was 67. With a career spanning more than 50 years, his music will live on.
