Ritchie Blackmore was always a bad ass but when the guys got together in Switzerland at a closed down hotel in December of 1971 he went to another level. It took 3 weeks and 3 days to complete the Machine Head album using the Rolling Stones mobile studio. Plus after every take they had to run downstairs to the mobile studio to listen to make sure it sounded right.. The band arrived Dec 4th to start recording at a casino,but (some stupid with a flare gun burned the place to the ground) during a Frank Zappa show...
