Today, the great Philip Parris Lynott would have turned 70. The Irish musician and songwriter, best known as the founding member, the principal songwriter, lead vocalist and bassist of Thin Lizzy was born on this day in 1949. Sadly, we lost Phil on January 4, 1986 after a lengthy battle with drug abuse.
