On This Day In 1982 Sony Introduced The Compact Disc Player

It was on this day in 1982 Sony introduced the Compact Disc Player in Tokyo and it wasn't cheap. The first generation of CD players cost upward of $650. (in 2018 prices that would be roughly $1,700). It's also interesting to note that not many titles were initially available. 

The first 50 titles were also released in Japan on 1 October 1982, the very first of which was a rerelease of the Billy Joel album 52nd Street. Take a look at how the new technology was introduced below.
