Ringo Sends You His Peace and Love and News on a New Album

Ringo Starr Covers John Lennon With Help From Paul McCartney

October 15, 2019 There’s a mini-Beatles reunion on Ringo Starr’s new album “What’s My Name.” For the latest preview of the upcoming record, Ringo gets a hand from Paul McCartney covering John Lennon’s song “Grow Old With Me.”

Ringo says the cover isn’t “a publicity stunt,” it was basically meant to be. “Grow Old With Me” was one of Lennon’s final recordings, discovered in a collection of his demos. It’s been covered several times over the years, including by Glen Campbell– but at the beginning of the tape, Lennon says it would “be great” for Ringo.

“The idea that Jon was talking about me in that time before he died, well, I’m an emotional person,” Ringo says. “I just loved this song, [and] I really wanted Paul to play on it, and he said yes.”Check out the cover to the right.

Ringo’s new album “What’s My Name” is due for release on October 25th and can be pre-ordered HERE.
