This is the final weekend of the State Fair of Texas and you can find me at the Lone Star 92.5 booth from 11a-1p on Saturday. Of course, it wouldn't be the Fair without funnel cakes and did you know Fernie's classic funnel cakes turns 50 this year? The brains behind the operation is 93-year-old Wanda "Fernie" Winter. She brought the funnel cakes to Texas from Branson Missouri in 1969, and the rest is history.
