Cowboys Cut Brett Maher, Sign Kai Forbath

Well, it finally happened. The Dallas Cowboys have made a change at kicker. After missing his TENTH FG of the season last Thursday, Brett Maher has been cut, and Dallas has signed journeyman kicker Kai Forbath. According to DallasCowboys.com, three kickers took part in tryouts on Monday, Forbath, Nick Rose and Tristan Vizcaino. Forbath is a career 85.8-percent kicker who originally went to camp with the Cowboys in 2011, when Dan Bailey won a training camp battle. He also worked out for the Cowboys in 2016 when Bailey was injured, but wasn’t signed.

As you can see from Calvin Watkin's tweets (above and below) the timing of Maher's release was unfortunate, as it came AFTER he spent time visiting sick kids at area hospitals.
