Petition To Have Neil Peart Honored With Memorial In Lakeside Park

RUSH fan Tony McLaughlin has created an online petition to see some sort of plaque or statue to commemorate late drummer, Neil Peart, in Lakeside Park, Ontario, Canada. Neil spent a lot of his youth in Port Dalhousie as can be heard in the famous song he penned "Lakeside Park" (above). McLaughlin wrote "what an amazing tribute it would be to him to have this placed there. We're all very proud of his accomplishments after he made that fateful audition in Toronto back in the 70's. If we all pull together, we CAN make this happen. With his untimely passing recently, this needs to be done even more so now." It appears the petition will surpass the goal of 25,000 signatures. As for Peart's family? The local newspaper caught up with his nephew Brian Howe, who said the Peart family is "fully on board, they think it's a great honor."
